• Overall, there are 24,320 licensed businesses in Surrey.
• Since 2018, there has been an 37% increase in the total number of business licences in Surrey.
• There has been an increase of 29% in the number of Commercial/Industrial businesses since 2018.

• Newton has the highest concentration of businesses at 8,491.
• South Surrey is the second largest business community with 3,993 businesses, making up 16% of the city’s business base.

• Construction makes up 21% of the total number of businesses by sector with 4,365 active licenses.
• Professional, scientific and technical services is the second largest sector with 12% of all  businesses and 2,588 active licenses.

• In 2024, there were 2,961 new businesses in Surrey.
• Also in 2024, there was a 5% increase in Commercial/Industrial licenses compared to the previous year.
